That is the reason they need practical, functional and comfortable beds. If it is so, then they will be able to use the beds for a good amount of years. Here comes an important consideration that smaller kids grow too fastly and their preferences and desires changes rapidly, so they force their parents to change their beds. The age of a kid affects the selection of bed because it develops a place for sleeping for them.
Mid sleeper beds for children are the best and most likely alternative for kids now. They are available in many patterns, colors, sizes, shapes and designs. It is very amusing for kids to sleep on the height and specially climbing ladder to get higher. Some of the high sleepers also entail stairs and slides instead of ladders. These beds facilitate the parents that are victims of shortage of space; they can be inventive and efficiently utilize the available space. They can place all the necessary items of their kids in smaller space.  These beds are available in many materials like wood and metal. The price of these beds also varies store to store and material to material.
When we talk about the types of mid sleepers then there are major three types:
  • Standard raised bed
  • Mid sleeper cabin bed
  • Mid sleeper bed with desk

Standard raised bed:
It is a general raised bed that is having an underneath space that can be used for storage purpose. You may also use the beneath space as play area. Many of these beds have tents and colorful curtains hanged upon these places to make it a worthy space. It attracts kids for playing because it gives an impression of hide and seek. These curtains sometimes have holes or cuts in it and the place looks like a den. These sorts of beds create a special and additional wider play area ii the kid’s room for entertaining them.

Mid sleeper cabin beds:
These beds are the best option for saving space and storage alternatives. These beds contains drawers, cabinets, cupboards and shelves affixed to the underneath space. These are the best way to teach teen agers decorum and organization because in such sorts of beds they will need to place each item on the right and dedicated space. In this way they will learn to keep their sleeping area, play area and the whole room tidy and organized themselves. These beds also have an additional free space underneath for play area.

Mid sleeper with desk:
These beds are an awesome choice if you want to make your kid sensible, independent, mature and intelligent. These beds have a desk entailed with them that provide them a well organized study area. They will get independent through having their own personal space for doing home works and studying. Some of the bed frames also have the option of pull out desks that saves the space more. You can pull them out when your kid needs to study and then drag it back, underneath the bed.

Although these are three different types but you can easily change one type into another very easily by simply adding new items to it.

Make sure that if you are going to open the sofa bed fully; it does not block any door, window, cubit or walking area.  Also keep in mind the measurements of the main door and room door because you have to enter and pass the sofa from these doors. Write down all the measurements and take it along with you when going for shopping.

If you are going to use your sofa bed on regular basis then the best option is spring mattress. However you may also prefer soft mattress if you are more comfortable and used to it, or if you are going to use it occasionally.

While a darker ceiling causes a person to feel like closed and trapped. Recent trend is having tray ceilings that create an illusion of space by adding fifth dimension to the room.

You can add a reading corner to your room to give it a serene appearance. A small room does not mean that only bed and dresser would be there. Creating a reading nook does not occupy much space. Just place a chair and a small desk or table at one corner of your room and your reading nook is ready. You can install one or more shelves in walls to organize and manage books.

Small furnishings work best
Choose dresser and armoire according to your room space. Round corner in room means you can have a round shaped dresser to fit into and a small wall means small dresser or armoire. Moreover, buy multifunctional furniture like storage bed that serves as a bed with drawers underneath. You can choose bunk beds for kids’ room as they offer 2 or 3 beds and occupy single bed space.

I am suggesting you some tips here through which the complicated task of room decoration in a small place will get easier. There are many fresh designing approaches through which you may get rid of typical crowded kid’s rooms.
Tip # 1
Look for extra and empty space under the furniture. Storage beds are the best option here because they are having dedicated storage place underneath it which can be utilized efficiently for placing kids stuff like toys, clothes, shoes etc. if you cannot purchase a mid sleeper or storage bed then you may simply place stuff under the bed.
Tip # 2
When you are having less space on floor then go vertical. Utilize each and every inch of the vertical space. During shopping, look for the armoires, book cases, hutches and other sort of tall decorating objects. These pieces save the foot place and shift the material up. Bunk bed is a good option to save the floor space if bedroom is shared because it stacks bed on each other.
Tip # 3
You may also create illusions of more spacious rooms by painting art. Through the use of strips in painting you may create illusions; if strips are horizontal then room looks wider and if strips are vertical the room looks taller. Lengthy curtains, from ceiling to floor, also help in creating illusions.
Tip # 4
Always go for combo furniture items like armoire with space for hanging clothes and drawers. Remove the doors of closet because it will help you open up space of children room. These furniture layouts give you high flexibility in designing small room efficiently.
Tip # 5
Effective utilization of corner enhances the space utilization. You may place corner shelve units and book cases which will assemble many items into it and will not occupy high horizontal space.

Tip # 6
Let the sun light come into your children room because it is good for health as well as it makes room wider and spacious. Do not place tall furniture besides the windows because it hinders the light to come in.
Tip # 7
Try to obtain an over sized kid’s chair because it will make the appearance of room wider and larger and it will trick the eye into perception of larger room.
Tip # 8
While thinking about the wall art, choose only one wall art which will work as a focal point for your kid’s room and will distract the focus on clutter. Try to minimize the use of accessories collection because it overloads the room look.
Tip # 9
The paint color should be lighter because darker color gives the room a congested look. Make a high use of lights into small rooms.
Tip # 10
Keep it simple and do not over dose the theme of room with too many colors. Keep it plain because it should not look over decorated.
Through these simple and straight tips you may create illusions of having more spacious rooms and you may utilize every inch of the space.

7 Tips To Give Your Home A Quality Improvement With Low Budget

Nowadays, in the era of recession, everybody is suffering from low budget but life does not stop due to this problem. Everyone wants to have a luxurious and out-class home but within his controlled low budget. There are many ways available in which you can furnish and decorate your home in high quality but at low budget. Here are some tips given below to make your home chic without spending a fortune.

Tip # 1
Do not go to specialized designer retails; go to some live auctions, online auctions, garage sales and estate sales for shopping larger items of furniture. These objects are available there on high quantity but on low prices. The quality of these items is also remarkable because these items come from richer. For example, you can buy dining table and armoire there on a quite budgeted price. Most of the times there are antique items, which obviously have high quality because they have last long. Keep a point in mind that always buy dining tables and chairs from there, never buy queen and king sized bed from there because they are newly invented items and it cannot be available in antiques; if the are available then they are not authentic.

Tip # 2
Do not forget draperies and pillows while purchasing decorative items because they enrich the look of your room and add softness. Try to obtain them from major retailer and avoid customized one because customization is a bit expensive; try to avail sales if they are available anywhere. There are multiple packages available in draperies like pair or panel; go for pair because it will be beneficial for you and save your money. You may also make your draperies and pillows at home to save the money and customize it; making pillows is quite easy and friendly but making draperies is a bit challenging. Anyhow if you are making it at home then it will miss the professional quality.

Tip # 3
Do a lot of surfing; shop everywhere to find out perfect accessory at low rate; do not get impatient and impulsive. Try to go to thrift shops and flea markets because they are best to obtain home furniture and  accessories. Visit your own store room because once you may have packed items of your grandparents and parents that get outdated at once; but now they are in fashion. Discount retailers are also a good option because they have quality items at low prices. Always purchase unique items of good quality and make less focus on basic accessories; only choose those which click you most and are budget friendly.

Tip # 4
Instead of wooden furnishing or tiles go for paint; do not under estimate it because it is very budget friendly. Make a wise decision while selecting paint color because it enriches the look of your room and it may create multiple atmospheres in your room.

Tip # 5
The architecture of room matters a lot in decoration. You may add architectural accents to your room through using chair rails and crown molding etc which makes your room more sophisticated and sober; these are also budget friendly.

Tip # 6
Keep the moderation while decorating; do not make your room full of accessories and furniture. Choose some low in number but high quality items instead of many but low quality items. Overuse of accessories will make your room look cheaper and messy. So use fewer items which will contain more perceived value and will be budget friendly.

Tip # 7
Always search online first; save your gas and petrol of wandering from shop to shop in search of budgeted-quality items.

So here, we can conclude that it is not tough to decorate your home in low budget, you just need to have some patience and good surfing sense to spot the right, quality and budgeted items.

Tips for Best Interior Finishes

Finishes are the final touches that enhance the visibility of your room as well as home. It gives a sense of completion to your home. Regardless of the situation that either you are designing a new one or trying to remodel your existing home, you always need to give it a finished look. Here are some suggestions that give your home best finishes.

Just because it is expensive & looks pretty does not signify that it is having best quality.

Price is nothing. It does not denote the quality; more the things are stylish and expensive more they are sensitive. While giving final touches you must go for those items that give you performance along with style.  For example, if you are purchasing a white shirt from a designer boutique in $50 and same white shirt from a local retailer at $10 and claim that high priced shirt will be of high quality then you are wrong! May be the local shirt will perform better than the designer shirt. So, always go for quality not for price. Before shopping do some homework, do online surfing, evaluate alternatives and find the best performing option.
Best in one situation may not be the best in other situation
You should determine the best option according to your situation. If something is performing exceptional in one case then you cannot imagine that it will perform the same in other situations too. Never choose any interior because of its beauty; always go for functional and durable items.  For example a wooden floor furnishing gives a high class look in living areas and bedrooms but you cannot use it in the bathroom or kitchen because these places remain wet and will spoil your furnishing work. Another example is about carpeting. White carpet looks stunning and perform well in bedroom but if you use them in room that contains main door of home then it will get outdated and rough within days due to dust of shoes.
Don't pay for finishing interiors that are imitator of other pricey finishes.

Do not ever go for the finishes that are copying any other posh and more expensive art of finish. Because it will give a cheaper look to your home and the grace of originality will be gone. For example, if you are using laminate beds, don’t get laminate that pretends to look like wooden bed because it will look fake.  Instead of it, select any inconspicuous laminate looking as laminate. Try to use original wood, metal and leather items because they are real one and stay in fashion for longer period of time.
Installation of finishes

there are two options to install finishes: do it yourself or hire a designer. If you are fully confident that you know the installation process of that finishing item then better is to do it yourself. If you are on doubt then hire a specialist, but he should be a reputed one having good experience of installation of such sort of items
Install those finishes which are in accordance with neighborhood

always keep in mind that you are spending money as an investment not as expenditures. So try to install those finishes which are in similar with your neighbors and locality, never go for the opposite one because it will be troubling if you are going to sale your home, it will not pay you back your money. The reason is that people look for similar things in accordance with the locality. For example, if your neighbors have used plain white tiles then do not go for designer’s stone tiles because buyer will not count it.
Start saving if you are under budget

always go for the best, do not install an inferior item just because you cannot afford the best item which suits your home. It is better to save money then getting disappoint at the end.

Top 8 basic designing principles

There are few designing principles which are the most basic one and which are recognized by designers of all youndras; the fashion designer, interior designer, architecture designer and artists etc. All of them use these basic principles in their everyday life works. A list of these basic principles is given below.

Balance:
There should be a balance in designing. Balance does not mean the actual physical weight of the objects, it pertains the visual weight of an object. All of the objects contained in a room must show some balance. For example a large piano at one side of room is balanced by a large sofa at the other side of room.   not so much the actual physical weight.  A large piano is balanced by a large sofa. There are 2 types of balance: formal and informal. Formal balance is attained by placing symmetrical weights on both sides of the area. For example if a table is placed in a room and a vase is placed on it then there should be identical vases on both sides of the table. Informal balance is achieved using multiple items. For example you may use one large pot at one side of table and 3 candles on the other side to keep the balance. Candles must have equal weight to pot.

Focal Point or Emphasis:
Focal point or Emphasize is the most dominating object of your room where you visual attention goes first. It could be anything like a fireplace, astonishing wooden bed or fountain in your room. Mostly there is one focal point but it can be two or three; but in a well designed room it should not exceed three.

Gradation:
Gradation is basically the scaling of the things used in a room. It includes everything from dark to light and big to small.  The objects may be from a pillow to the paint. For example, if we talk about the pillows on bed then a well designed room always have multiple sizes of pillows placed on bed in a decreasing order.

Proportion:
proportion means the relation of one objects size, quantity or number to the other part of the other object. There should be proportions of 2:3, 3:5 or 5:8. For example a double bed looks better than a single bed.
Radiation
Things should not be isolated; there must be some radiations around the objects. For example there must be chairs around the table, drawers around the bed and so on. It’s like the branches around the tree trunk. It gives a touch of completion to the items.

Rhythm:
It is the designer created path that the watching eye follows. Rhythm can be created by the use of gradation, repetition, transition or radiation. Repetition is the use of identical items in a series. For example, using the same plant many time in a series along a wall.

Scale:
Scale means the comparison of items in a single place. For example a small room with a lot of items will be unpleasing. Same is the case with a large room and small items. If the room is larger and wider then the size of items must also be large.

Transition:
It means that how one object is transited to another item. Do not go a large item to small item immediately. Use some medium sized items in between them to make transition effective and attractive.

5 tips: How to give your bed a designer look??

There is a huge difference in the decoration style of our mother and designers. Same is the case in the decoration of beds; designers do not decorate it in the way that our mothers have taught us. There are many ways in which you can make your bed look like a designer’s bed; although every designer decorates it differently but some things are common in all.  Mostly designers focus on individuality, silkiness and comfort in bed design. To make your bed look like a designer one you may follow some suggestions that are given below…

Bed sheets:
Do not purchase bedding material as a single group; it will make your bed more flat. Purchase sheets and pillows separately because it will add versatility and it will be economical. You can replace any items according to your mood after sometime. Try to use different patterns and colors in your bedding that will give a more appealing look to your bed. For your bed sheets and pillows, use bold colors and patterns; make a contrast in between sheet and pillow which will make it more visible. Fold the extra sheet under the mattress to make the sheet tight on top; it will give a sophisticated wrapped look to your bed.

Pillows:
To give designer looks to your bed use some specific dimensions in pillows: square shaped pillows should have dimensions of 26” x 26”; rectangular must be of 20” x 26”. Squared shaped pillows add elegance and rectangular provides you standard place to keep your head on and relax.
For a twin bed: use 1 rectangular and 1 square.
For a double bed: use 2 rectangular and 2 squares.
For a king bed: use 2 rectangular and 3 squares.
Square pillows are placed ahead of rectangular; there are many more sort of pillows that you may add but keep in mind that larger will be placed behind the smaller.  Do not go crazy for pillows; bed is place to sleep not to put pillows only. Save space to sleep.

Bed scarf:
Designers always use scarf at their beds. It is a folded sheet that is placed on the foot side of bed. It is most popular is hotels but now it is getting fame and usual in homes too. Scarves are used to protect the bed end from dirt because people sometime lay down on bed with shoes and put luggage on it too.

Bed skirt:
Bed skirt is compulsory in designer’s bed most of the times. It is basically a frill that hangs on all sides of bed except the head. It adds elegance to the bed frame and enriches the look of bed.

Decorative blanket:
A blanket is place and affixes to bed same as the bed sheet but it comes to the mid of the bed. Head side is not covered with blanket. It gives you more comfy and smooth place to sleep and it helps you in night when it gets cold; it is better to have extra layers.
